Forward player for Tampa Bay Lightning Ryan Malone was arrested Saturday for driving under the influence and possession of drugs.
According to USA Today, Malone was driving on South Armenia Avenue just after 3 a.m. this morning when he made a left turn in the center lane. Police pulled over the vehicle for the traffic stop, but left with a DUI arrest.
Police also found cocaine in Malone’s pocket during the arrest. He was promptly taken to jail. FOX 13 Tampa Bay tweeted the players mug shot.

The Tampa Bay Times states that Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said the 34-year-old will not be going to Washington with his team today. It remains to be seen how this arrest will affect Malone’s ability to play at playoffs.
“We are aware of the situation concerning Ryan Malone this morning,” Yzerman said. “Ryan will not travel with the team to Washington today but beyond that we cannot comment further at this time.”
Malone has played for the Lightning team since 2008, which was named United States men’s hockey team in 2010 at the Winter Olympics. They won silver at the Vancouver Games.
