New Zealand-born singer, Lorde, is attempting to break the mold when it comes to pop stars by posting an unretouched photo of her face and spreading the message that it’s perfectly okay to have flaws.
Lorde posted two photos – one airbrushed and one natural – of herself performing at Lollapalooza in Santiago, Chile on Sunday.
She tweeted, “i find this curious - two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)” encouraging fans to embrace themselves the way they are.

Lorde has been vocal about this subject since she acquired fame from her song “Royals.” She once posted a photo of herself wearing acne cream and blasted her now-friend Taylor Swift for promoting the message of being perfect.
They’re friends now, but Huffington Post reported at the time that Lorde said in an interview with Metro magazine, “Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls. ‘I’m never going to be like Taylor Swift, why can’t I be as pretty as Lorde?’ That’s f–king bulls–t.”
