The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants are locked in a tight battle for the National League West title to start the season. The Dodgers avoided a sweep at the hands of the Giants by beating them 2-1. The Dodgers and Giants are tied for the NL West lead with a 10-6 record.

According to MLB, starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu extended his scoreless streak to 26 innings on the road this season. He pitched seven shutout innings with three strikeouts while walking one batter.

Every game in this series was decided by one run. The Giants took the first game 3-2 in 12 innings before taking the next one 2-1.

According to the LA Times, Tim Federowicz drove in the first run for the Dodgers with a single. Adrian Gonzalez later added another RBI single. Ehire Adrianza drove in the only run for the Giants in the bottom of the ninth with a single.

Kenley Jansen shook this off to earn his fifth save of the season though.
