Academy Award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is the brand new ambassador for French cosmetic and skincare company Lancôme.
Lancôme announced the news Friday morning notes the Huffington Post.
“I am truly honored to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such prestigious history that I have always loved. I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself,” said Nyong’o according to USA Today.
The Mexican-born Kenyan beauty joins A-listers like Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz and Julia Roberts who were also Lancôme brand ambassadors.
Nyong’o was the talk of Hollywood all through awards season, and not just for her talent, but also for her bold and always-exquisite fashion choices. The actress is a apart of the Miu Miu spring/summer 2014 campaign.
Since winning the Oscar for best female supporting role for her performance in 12 Years a Slave, Nyong’o has become a role model for women all over the world.
Nyong’o will make her first red carpet appearance since the Oscar’s on April 12 at the GlAAD Media Awards.
