Marvel has commissioned some of the best artists in the world to give fans a glimpse of what's to come each week on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the rest of the first season.
As part of the new initiative "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Art of Level Seven," a new poster image will be released on Thursday that will tie in with the episode airing the following Tuesday. The first image, by X-Men: Legacy's Mike Del Mundo, features the show's cast in a rat maze shaped like the S.H.I.E.L.D logo, alluding to the revelation in the previous episode that the mysterious Clairvoyant is likely an operative in the agency.
Series producer Jeff Bell said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, who broke the story, that the initiative came about because "one of the great things about Marvel is that all of the universes and everything connects — it all originally came from the comic-verse, it was all inspired by the writers and artists and the comics."
Posters of the art will be available on MarvelStore.com beginning at 1 am on Friday.
The first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has 6 episodes remaining and co-creator Jed Whedon is hopeful that there will be a second. He told TV Guide "We're optimistic that we'll have a chance to tell more stories."
