Episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show featuring Mary Tyler Moore will be released in a new DVD collection.
The Dick Van Dyke Show: Classic Mary Tyler Moore Episodes features 20 episodes of the series that ran from 1961-1966. According to the LA Times, The Dick Van Dyke Show is thought to be “one of the greatest sitcoms in TV history.”
Mary Tyler Moore played Laura Petrie in the series. Episodes on the DVD include “Coast to Coast Big Mouth” and “My Husband Is a Check-Grabber.” The DVD features the comedic genius of Mary Tyler Moore who first appeared on the show when she was 24 years old.
Creator Carl Reiner said that he still watches the show sometimes on television. According to the Associated Press, Reiner said about Mary Tyler Moore in the “Never Bathe on Sunday” episode, "You hear her voice, but she's hardly ever on-screen…Mary was a little upset about it. She wanted more time on camera.”
Reiner also credits the writing team, Bill Persky and Sam Denoff, for the success of the show. He says he’s always pleased to see the episodes over time.
