Following weeks of rumors, Michael Strahan has officially joined ABC’s Good Morning America. He will be pulling double duty on Live! With Kelly and Michael and GMA.

Strahan won’t be a mainstay at GMA, however. He will only join the program a few days a week and will take on stories that are of particular interest to him.

The Hollywood Reporter reports when he was introduced, he said “So when you can do it all, what do you do next? Well, we've got good news for you America, your mornings just got happier 'cause now it's time to say, 'Good morning' to Michael as he comes to Good Morning America.”

Co-anchors George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts gushed about Strahan and his Live! co-host, Kelly Ripa, saying they helped a lot when Roberts was out recovering from surgery.

“It's a pleasure to get up early because you guys have been so good to us, Kelly and I, as well," said Strahan.

The official GMA Twitter page tweeted this morning, “Good morning, @michaelstrahan, and welcome to the #GMA team!”
