Michael Strahan is really making a name for himself outside of the NFL. The Live! With Kelly and Michael host is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to join ABC’s Good Morning America.
However, source say that he will still keep his post on Live! and he will be working both jobs at ABC.
“They’re on the verge of signing the deal,” a source told Daily News. “I could be announced this week.”
Talks between Strahan and the network have been ongoing for the past few months, insiders say. He won’t be taking over for any of the co-anchors, and he won’t appear on the show five days a week.
With the departure of Josh Elliot for NBC News, George Stephanopoulos is the only male co-anchor on the show right now.
It isn’t clear when Strahan would start his run on GMA but it’s reported that he will join the show for the 7am hour before he starts Live! with Ripa.
