Former Jersey Shore cast member “The Situation” Mike Sorrentino announced this week he will return to reality television in a new show called The Sorrentinos for the TV Guide Network.
According to an exclusive with Entertainment Weekly, the Situation will star along his sister Melissa, brothers Marc and Frank, and mother Linda. The “unscripted” reality series will focus less a gym-tan-laundry lifestyle, and more on the family dynamics of the Sorrentino’s that was instrumental for Mike following his 2012 rehab stint for prescription pain killers.
Mike Sorrentino told EW, “The reality of the situation is … for the first time, fans and the general public, will be able to see and, well, meet Michael Sorrentino. This next chapter of my life is about sobriety and family, and I’m stoked to take people on this journey with us.”
The Star-Ledger reports that while no premiere date is set, production will begin next week. Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment for TVGN, said of the show’s concept, “Family is everything and it’s something people universally come back to no matter who you are and what you do.”
Sorrentino starred in all six seasons of the Jersey Shore from 2009 to 2012.
