Celebrities are planning to line-up for a good cause. Among the many events that celebrities will participate in this year is the 21st Annual Race to Erase MS, hosted by Nancy Davis on May 2nd in Los Angeles. Live musical performances are scheduled for Steven Tyler, CeeLo Green, and Natalie Cole.
Cole also performed at the 13th Annual Race to Erase MS, according to MTV. The glamorous event includes a cocktail reception and silent auction items.
In the past, the event has been star-studded. Howie Mandel, Cybill Shepherd, Mel B, Ray Romano, and Bryon Allen participated in last year’s Race to Erase MS. The galas bring in leading talent from the television and music industries. Galas have featured Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Joan Jett, among other recording superstars, according to Society News LA.
The Race to Erase MS is dedicated to the treatment and cure of Multiple Sclerosis. Money that is raised goes to support the Center without Walls program, a network of MS research centers dedicated to ending multiple sclerosis. The Race to Erase MS was founded by Nancy Davis in 1993 after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
The event this year will honor those who have given hope in a time of crisis. In 2014, Chairman of the Board and founder of MediaNews Group, Dean Singleton will be honored with the Medal of Hope Award, according to Eye Spy LA.
The first Race to Erase MS event was held in Aspen, Colorado. The 21st Annual Race to Erase MS event will take place on May 2nd at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in LA.
