On Wednesday NBC released trailers for two of their shows debuting in May.
Bill Lawrence, who created Scrubs, is returning to NBC for Undateable. The live audience sit-com stars Whitney's Chris D'Elia as a confident guy who becomes friends with group of less charismatic oddballs played by Game of Thrones actor David Fynn and comedians Ron Funches, Brent Morin and Rick Glass. They will also be joined by Rules of Engagement's Bianca Kajlich as the sister of D'Elia's character. The series is inspired by the book Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won't Be Dating or Having Sex by Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle.
The other new trailer is for medical drama The Night Shift, starring Merlin's Eoin Macken, an Afghanistan veteran described as an "adrenaline junkie" by the show's website. He is joined at the San Antonio hospital by his best friend, Lost's Ken Leung, and his protégé played by Brendan Fehr from Roswell. Macken will butt heads with his new bosses, including The Good Wife's Jill Flint as his ex-girlfriend.
