Netflix announced on Monday that the second season of Hemlock Grove would premiere on Friday, July 11.
The second season will be 10 episodes long and pick up with the town reacting and then looking to recover from how the first season closed out, reports Entertainment Weekly. Executive producer Eli Roth said in a statement, "I cannot wait for fans to see what's in store for season two."
The Hostel director added, "It's going to blow away all expectations. ... We guarantee you won't see anything like this anywhere else on television."
The first season of Hemlock Grove wasn't especially well-received by critics or, it seemed, viewers, so the show's second season pickup was a bit of a surprise. Variety notes that Netflix executives have noted that the streaming service felt the importance of the show was more in attracting and retaining subscribers.
The show, which did get nominated for two Emmys - original main title theme music and special effects, follows the weird events that occur in a tiny Pennsylvanian town. Hemlock stars Bill Skarsgard, Landon Liboiron, Famke Janssen and Dougray Scott.
