For most Orange is the New Black fans, the first season entailed binge watching all thirteen episodes on Netflix over the course of a few days, leaving the beginning of the second season unimaginably far in the future—we can finally say the time has come and the trailer for season two has been released.
Piper Chapman left us all at the edge of our seats in the season one finale showdown between her and Penssatucky, the Christ-loving, former meth-head, but the second season trailer gives us insight into many more problematic situations for all the inmates.
Season two brings familiar faces back to the group while some new trouble makers find their way into Lichfield Prison—Piper is no longer the new girl in the bunks.
Fans of the Netflix original series can expect to see a newbie to fill Piper’s shoes as well as a Bunkie and a possible companion for Crazy Eyes, according to The Telegraph—hopefully she doesn’t cross her as well, we all know that will result in a pool of urine by her bedside.
The trailer illustrates that there may be another leading figure from Red’s past who will give her a run for her money—Lichfield is only big enough for one of them.
The popular Netflix series is one of few shows that challenge viewers’ ideas and the “norm” of sexuality as well gender identity, reports Rolling Stone. During their time in prison, experimentation of the inmates is almost expected and the show is equipped with transgendered actress Laverne Cox and openly gay actress Lea DeLaria, who give exceptional performances as the deeply loved characters Sophia and Big Boo.
Orange is the New Black season two and its thirteen episodes will make it’s Netflix debut at once on June 6th and if the trailer is any accurate indication, its not one to miss.
