Paul Walker’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, has decided to drop her bid for the guardianship of her late son’s 15-year-old daughter.
According to Los Angeles Daily News, Cheryl Ann’s attorneys filed court papers with the Los Angeles Superior Court that asked if her petition may be dismissed.
The court documents reportedly did not state a reason as to why she had changed her mind; however, her reasons may be stated during court during her scheduled hearing on April 30.
According to People magazine, her attorney, Bela Lugosi, had previously said that Rebecca Soteros, the child’s biologically mother, wished to resolve the issue out of court.
People also reported that the documents that Cheryl Ann filed in March to obtain guardianship stated she wished for custody of the 15-year-old because “parental custody would be detrimental to the minor” as her mother allegedly has a drinking problem.
However, a source told People that Soteros would be willing to attend rehabilitation in order to receive the custody of her daughter.
