Recently, PBS released a Blank on Blank series involving Johnny Cash and now, they’ve released an interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono in the form of a cartoon as well.
The episode titled, “John Lennon and Yoko Ono on Love,” is derived from interviews between 1969 and 1972 conducted by Harold Smith. According to USA Today, the couple talks about their love life and explains their in depth relationship throughout the years. Patrick Smith is responsible for the quirkily animated interview, reports Rolling Stone.
At the age of 32, Ono describes she had just about given up on love until she met Lennon. Even after singing song after song about love and relationships, Lennon felt as if he truly experienced love after meeting Ono.
"I'd experienced love for people in gusts, and love for things, trees, things like that, but I hadn't experienced what I was singing about," said Lennon in the animated clip.
He continued to say that the best part about being with Ono is that she had a “ticking mind” and that living with her is like living with a bunch of people at once.
Aside from love for another human being, they discuss their love for television and if that doesn’t make the duo more human than we thought, I’m not quite sure what does.
“It’s all true folks, all you need is love,” Lennon said.
