'Happy' singer Pharrell Williams will be joining NBC's The Voice .

Pharrell fans will definitely have a reason to feel happy when the seventh season of The Voice premiers in the fall, as the superstar singer and producer will become the singing competition's newest judge! NBC took to Twitter yesterday to share the big news:

NBC President Paul Telegdy spoke about the decision to bring Williams on as a new judge, saying, "He has already made a considerable impact as a mentor, drawing on an impressive track record as both a producer and performer. It is a perfect fit for 'The Voice' as we evolve and reach for new heights with this franchise," reports CNN . Pharrell has reached critical acclaim for his song "Happy" and performed at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

US Magazine reports that Pharrell will be taking the place of CeeLo Green, who announced in February that he did not plan to return to the hit show. Green, who acted as a judge for seasons one, two, three, and five of The Voice , never had a winning contestant.

Season six of the show is currently on the air, and features Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher, and Shakira as judges. No word yet on which current judges will be returning for season seven.
