On Friday, Oscar Pistorius faced another round of tough questioning from the state lawyer about his account of shooting Reeva Steenkamp.
According to CNN, Prosecutor Gerrie Nel accused the Paralympian of hiding the truth about the day he fatally shot Steenkamp.
Under cross-examination, Nel challenged Pistorius’ version of events and claimed that the athlete made up what happened on the day in question.
The Associated Press noted that Nel said if the athlete really called out to Steenkamp about an intruder and to call the police than she would have responded that she was the person in the bathroom.
"You knew that Reeva was behind the door and you shot at her knowing that she was behind that door," Nel said.
Pistorius insisted that was untrue.
The prosecution contends that the sprint-runner intentionally shot his girlfriend after the two had an argument on Valentine’s Day 2013. However, the 27-year-old claims that he shot the model only after mistaking her for an intruder. He plead not guilty to murder.
