Rapper Andre Johnson severs own penis, survives suicide jump off building

Andre Johnson, a rapper affiliated with the Wu Tang Clan, reportedly cut off his penis and jumped off a building in a suicide attempt, but survived.

According to the LA Times, Johnson, who goes by “Christ Bearer” in the rap group Northstar, was found at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday after severing his penis and jumping off the second floor of an apartment building in North Hollywood.

Los Angeles Police Sgt. William Mann confirmed that Johnson was alive and rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The severity of his injuries is still unknown.

Johnson was with other members of the group prior to his incident, which police are calling a “suicide attempt”, and they rushed downstairs when they heard Johnson screaming after his fall.

According to TMZ, they said that were not on any “hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing."

Northstar, a Long Beach-based hip-hop group, was discovered outside of an L.A. radio station in 1998.They are listed as an affiliate of the Wu-Tang Clan.
