A report claims that longtime rocker Jon Bon Jovi is interested in purchasing and will bid on the Buffalo Bills franchise.
According to Toronto Sun Media, the musician’s publicist confirmed that Bon Jovi is part of a Toronto group expected to bid for the team.
"Jon remains passionate in his pursuit of an NFL franchise," said publicist Ken Sunshine.
NFL.com noted that last week Donald Trump said that if purchased the Bills that he would try to keep them in Buffalo. If Bon Jovi’s group buys the team, it will move the franchise up north in 2020.
Team owner Ralph Wilson Jr. died two weeks ago and the Bills announced last week that the Wilson family would sell the team.
Bon Jovi is a big sports fan, who previously owned the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football league, so his interest in nabbing an NFL team comes as no surprise.
A potential bid could be a partnership with the 52-year-old singer and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which owns the NBA's Toronto Raptors and the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs.
