Resurrection begins this week with, what seems like, a picture-perfect scene. Jacob’s mother is playing the piano beautifully, his father is listening happily, and Jacob is wrapped in a game of toy soldiers with Agent J. Martin Bellamy. For a moment, it seems like all the chaos in Arcadia has laid to rest (no pun intended). But, their feeling of ease is short-lived. Henry and Lucille Langston have suddenly vanished, along with Agent Bellamy’s gun, and the FBI agents storm the house in search of Jacob. Bellamy is helpless.

As he watches them carry Jacob away, it is no longer Jacob he is looking at it. Instead, we see another little boy, who looks like he could be Bellamy’s son. Luckily, this is all a terrible nightmare. However, is reveals something more about Bellamy’s past that we have not been exposed to. It gives us some hint as to why Jacob’s life (or second life) is so important to him.

On the other hand, Henry Langston is finally realizing how cold he has been toward his son – or whoever Jacob is. He never fully let go of losing his one and only son, making it impossible to let anyone else in. His wife did move on, however, and though he showed some resentment toward her for that, he is realizing he was in the wrong. To work toward a new start with Jacob and a final goodbye to the past, Henry restores an old scrapbook. It is filled with baby pictures and Jacob’s tiny footprints, pushing Henry to a much needed cry.

Sheriff Fred Langston and Agent Bellamy are now working closely together, against Fred’s will, to find the money Caleb has stolen. The longer they take to find it, the more risk there is of the FBI showing up for investigation. Once the government hears of the supernatural events taking place, Caleb and Jacob will be locked away forever – most likely in a lab. It is their job to prevent this from happening.

Arcadia’s noteworthy Pastor, Tom Hale, is supposed to be the holiness man in the town. Instead, he is lying to his wife and sneaking off to help his own resurrected past love, Rachel. According to Tom, Rachel has gone home to see her family in Tennessee. But, we know better. Tom has put her up in a hotel, with food and clothing, and he has now reached out to Maggie Langston to get a physical exam set up for Rachel. Upon completion of her exam, Rachel finds out she is pregnant, meaning she was with child before she committed suicide. The plot thickens!

Meanwhile, Caleb Richards makes himself comfortable in a jail cell as punishment for the thievery and murder he has committed since returning. Caleb remains secretive, choosing to tip-toe around every question Agent Bellamy throws at him. When asked why this is of utmost importance, Bellamy flashes back to the little boy again. This time, though, the boy is deceased and being taken away on a gurney, furthering our understanding of Bellamy’s traumatizing past.

Elaine Richards is facing the consequences of letting her father get too close. It’s never easy when everyone is thinking, “I told you so.” Further, Elaine lost her job because of him. She is a hard working woman, caring for her brother and paying a mortgage on her own. She is absolutely devastated of this news, as she worked diligently to move up in her position at the bank.

Elaine develops the courage to meet with her father at his jail cell. Finally, she is able to release all of her anger toward him for being a terrible parent in the past and an even worse parent now. He is to blame for all of her struggles and trust issues, and it seems like she is pushing him out of her life for good. Through the raid, she finds a photo on the ground, and with the help of her father’s hints she figures out where has had hid the money – underneath the porch he spent so many hours repairing.

She adamantly returns it to Agent Bellamy with no intention of keeping the money for herself. She wishes to cut all ties, and Bellamy still seeks answers. He takes the money directly to the jail, and all of the sudden Caleb begins to tell the agent about the boy who died. He says, “He thinks its your fault,” and then completely disappears out of his cell.

So many questions! Did Caleb die again? Is he coming back? Will Jacob disappear as well? How can Rachel have a baby? Will Tom leave his wife to reconnect with Rachel? Only time will tell.

Side note: We still do not know who is hiding in the house of Maggie’s mother’s ex-lover.

Stay tuned.
