Justin Bieber is one of the rare celebrities sticking up for Justin Bieber and all of his antics throughout the past year or so. Lowe is a teen star himself who has had his own set of controversy with a sex tape that leaked in 1988.
Lowe spoke with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday night to promote his new book Love Life, and he opened up about having “tremendous empathy” for the “As Long As You Love” me singer, 21.
“He makes really good music, he does, but I think he knows the dark secret, and the dark secret is that 80% of his audience doesn't give a ... about his music. He knows it. It bums him out,” LA Times reports.
Lowe continued on to say that Bieber is more of a symbol of their generation, rather than a true artist.
"They care about lemming think, and their girlfriends and who's oohing and ahhing. It has nothing to do with what he's doing as an artist," he said. "He is the guy who's standing in front at a moment when they're going through a developmental thing. It's natural, it's all great, but if it wasn't him, it'd be someone else, like it was me."
As we previously reported, Lowe has been getting attention while doing this past round of promotional interviews for his book. He also said the public is “bias” against good looking people like himself.
