Ron Howard will be continuing his relationship with Warner Bros. as he is set to direct the upcoming murder mystery film The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair.

Variety reported that Howard would be working with Imagine Entertainment and his longtime professional partner Brian Grazer on this project along with Eugenie Grandval and Claire Lundberg. Imagine Entertainment will also be serving as an executive producer entity on the film.

Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the Joel Dicker’s novel which has sold over 2 million copies to date. The novel is not available yet in the United States but will be published in May.

The movie will tell the story of a young novelist who is on a mission to solve a 33-year-old murder that took place in New Hampshire. He will be trying to solve the mystery with his former college professor and mentor accused of committing the murder himself.

First Showing added that this is the first project for Howard following his work with Chris Hemsworth on Heart of the Sea.
