Both Showtime series Shameless and House of Lies finished strong on Sunday night amidst strong competition.
The Gallaghers finished their fourth season up 6 percent over the third season finale with 1.93 million viewers, reports TheWrap. A total of 2.83 million watched both telecasts.
The finale also became the show's second most-watched episode, behind only the third season premiere, according to Variety. That episode drew 1.995 million.
House of Lies wrapped its third season to 731,000 viewers. Between two showings, the program managed 1.4 million viewers. This episode was the most-watched finale for the show yet.
The finales performed well despite the monstrously strong fourth season premiere of Game of Thrones, which became the most-watched episode of the series on Sunday. The fantasy drama managed to premiere to 6.6 million viewers, for a total of 8.2 million between two telecasts.
New comedy Silicon Valley also started off strong, using GoT as a lead-in. The geeky comedy debuted to 2 million viewers.
