The new Mike Judge series, Silicon Valley, premiered on HBO on April 6.
The series is set in the world of the high-tech gold rush of Silicon Valley. According to Salon, the show features “the language, the archetypes, the watered-down suburban pastels, the parade of white boys (with a few South Asians and East Asians thrown in for verisimulitude)… and above all, the goofy arrogance” of actual Silicon Valley.
It stars Amanda Crew, Aly Mawji, and Jake Broder. Richard, played by Thomas Middleditch is the central character on the show. He is surrounded by salesmen, visionaries, and friends. Humor is found in the world of geeks and nerds. The show is based on Mike Judge’s own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late 1980s. The show is co-created by John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show originally had a showing on SXSW earlier in March. However, the series premiered for everyone on March 6. It can be seen on Sundays at 10PM on HBO.
