Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Malone ran into trouble with the law on two separate charges. He was charged with driving under the influence and possession of cocaine early Saturday morning.
According to USA Today, Malone was spotted driving around 3:15 a.m. by Tampa police officers. Malone's car reportedly hit a curb while making a left turn.
The police stopped him and found Malone to be intoxicated. 1.3 grams of cocaine were discovered in Malone's vehicle as he was being arrested for the DUI as reported by ESPN.
Malone refused to take a sobriety test, but his blood alcohol level was measured at .112 and .116, which is well over the .08 limit in Florida.
Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said that Malone would not join the team in their Sunday road trip to Washington.
