Television host Samantha Harris says she has breast cancer

Television host Samantha Harris says that she’s battling breast cancer.

The popular TV host worked on Entertainment Tonight and Dancing with the Stars.

Harris found a lump in her breast, and she is working with doctors in terms of treatment. People reports that Harris is planning to undergo surgery for a double mastectomy in order to treat the cancer. She has taken steps to deal with the problem, and Harris said that she already had one lumpectomy. She says that the decision to get the surgery has “made her feel calmer.”

The television host said that got a routine mammogram that was inconclusive, but then went to a specialist who found the lump in her breast. According to USA Today, she told People, "It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest.”

According to the Associated Press, Harris' prognosis, at this point, is encouraging.
