For the last 21 years, David Letterman has entertained millions of viewers as host of CBS' Late Show with David Letterman. Letterman has interviewed many celebrities including actors, actresses, athletes, musicians and politicians. Also, during the last 21 years Letterman has welcomed a variety of outstanding musical guests, who all come from different genres of music. Letterman has hosted musical artists from the world of hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock, jazz, country and classical music. 10. Ms. Lauryn Hill: "Something"

Back in early February, Grammy award winning singer Lauryn Hill performed a cover of the Beatles song "Something". Hill's performance occurred during Letterman's week long tribute to the Beatles. Hill is best known for being a member of the hip-hop group the Fugees and for her classic solo debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Hill's debut album won her five Grammys, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist.

9. Gary Allan: "It Ain't The Whiskey"

In March, county music star Gary Allan, performed the song "It Ain't The Whiskey" from his CD Set You Free. Allan first hit the country music scene back in 1996, with his song "Her Man" off his debut album, Used Heart for Sale. With Used Heart for Sale, Allan achieved success by having the album go gold. Since, then Allan has released nine solo albums, which have have produced 26 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

8. Jennifer Nettles:"Falling"

In mid-January, country music singer Jennifer Nettles, performed the song "Falling" off her debut solo album That Girl. Nettles is best known as the lead vocal singer of the duo Sugarland. Sugarland also includes Kristian Bush, who does background and lead vocals as well as playing instruments such as mandolin, acoustic guitar, and harmonica. In 2013, Nettles broke out on her own and released her debut solo album That Girl, which features ten songs, including a cover of Bob Seger's, "Like a Rock".

In March, girl group Little Mix performed their hit song "Move" off their album Salute. The group comes from the United Kingdom and consists of members Perrie Edwards,Jesy Nelson,Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall. In 2011, Little Mix were exclusively formed for the eighth series of the British version of The X Factor and went to become the first group to win the competition. They went on to release their debut album DNA in 2012, which featured the singles "Wings", "DNA" and "Change Your Life".

Irish rock and roll band The Strypes performed the song "What a Shame" from their debut album Snapshot. The Strypes origin from Cavan, Ireland and consist of members Josh McClorey, Ross Farrelly, Pete O'Hanlon and Evan Walsh. The band has found inspiration in their music by admiring other classic rock bands like The Rolling Stones, Eddie and the Hot Rods and The Yardbirds. Along with, "What a Shame", other singles the band has released include "Blue Collar Jane" and "Hometown Girls".

Like Lauryn Hill,in early February Sting along with Ivy Levan and Mike Einziger performed the Beatles' hit song "Drive My Car" as part Letterman's week long tribute to the Beatles. Sting is best known as the lead singer of The Police and for having his own success as a solo artist. Sting has a music style that varies across different genres of music. He is able to incorporate different elements of rock, jazz, reggae and classical into his music. So far in his career Sting has won 16 Grammys and as a member of The Police was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

In early March, singer Bob Mould performed "See a Little Light" to celebrate the 25th anniversary reissuing of his debut album Workbook 25. Mould is also a member of the alternative rocks band Hüsker Dü and Sugar. Besides, doing vocals Mould plays guitar, keyboard, bass and percussion. His original solo album Workbook was released in 1989, and the album was his first after he left Hüsker Dü. Workbook is considered to be very influential in the genre of alternative rock music.

In early April music duo Johnnyswim performed their song "Home" from their album Diamonds. Johnnyswim consists of singer and songwriters Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez. Sudano is the daughter of late singer Donna Summer. Sudano and Abner are married in real life and have covered songs from other musical artists such as Britney Spears and Edith Piaf.

In early Feburary, along with Sean Lennon, rock band The Flaming Lips performed a cover of the Beatles song,"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". The Flaming Lips have been performing as a rock band for the last 30 years and consist of members Wayne Coyne, Michael Ivins, Steven Drozd,Derek Brown and Kliph Scurlock. The band is known for their outrageous live shows, which which feature costumes, balloons, puppets and more while they are on stage.

Back in January, singer Ellie Goulding performed her single "Burn" off of her album Halcyon Days. Goulding, is an English singer and songwriter, whose musical influences include Björk, Imogen Heap, Lauryn Hill and Kanye West. In 2011, Goulding performed a cover of Elton John's song "Your Song" at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
