Michael King is glad to tell sports fans about the world of boxing. King, who has always loved boxing, thinks it would be great to return boxing to “its golden age.”

He is hoping the event will have a Hollywood flair. The boxing competition will be hosted by actor Kevin Pollak. "It's exciting as hell that not everyone is going to know who these fighters are," said Pollak, according to the Associated Press. "Because they won't forget afterward."

King's first show will include names known to boxing fans: middleweight Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, welterweight Chris Van Heerden, and Charles Martin.

King said he wants to do shows around the world, putting them in many cities in the same night for TV audiences. King has been behind large game shows previously. The CEO has distributed and marketed some of television's most-successful programs, including Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

For his foray into boxing, King is holding the first round of events at the Barker Hangar near the Santa Monica airport. The boxing match will take begin on Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m., according to PR Newswire. The Hangar seats about 1,200, but celebrities and fans will make red carpet arrivals before the event.
