The Wrap reports that TV Land has ordered a 12 episode deal for a new comedy series starring Hilary Duff.
The new seies, Younger, will be written, directed, and produced by Darren Star (Sex and the City). It will be the first TV Land series to be shot in New York City.
The show will also star Sutton Foster (Bunheads), Debi Mazar (Entourage), and Miriam Shar (GCB).
TV Land president, Larry W. Jones, explained in a statement that they were excited to work with Star, and that Younger will be a great fit for the channel.
"Younger's serialized style is different for us, yet fits our brand with its humor and relatability," Jones said. "These are compelling characters that our audience will root for, love and love to hate."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Younger tells the story of Liza (Foster), a single mom who is having trouble finding a job. She receives a makeover from her best friend Maggie (Mazar), and pretends to be 26 years old. After landing a job, she befriends her co-worker, Kelsey (Duff), who is oblivious to Liza's secret.
Younger is scheduled to debut this Fall.
TV Land has also ordered another comedy series, Jennifer Falls, starring Jamie Pressly, and premiers this June.
