CBS narrowly won Wednesday night in the ratings over Fox, while Law & Order: SVU improved for NBC.

Survivor was up slightly to a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and Criminal Minds followed right behind with a 2.3 demo rating. CSI dipped slightly a 1.7 in the demo. HitFix reports the network eked out a victory with a 2.1 in the demo and 9.5 million viewers.

Fox's lone show of the night, American Idol, ticked downward slightly to a 2.0 in the demo, leaving the network in second place with 8.8 million viewers.

NBC came in a distant third with a 1.5 in the advertiser-important demo and 6 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Law & Order: SVU was up on the night to a 2.0 in the demo, while Chicago P.D. remained steady from the previous week with a 1.6 demo rating.

ABC opted to air mostly repeats, with the exception of the weak freshman comedy Mixology, which predictably stumbled on its own. The show hit a new series low with a 1.1 rating. The alphabet network averaged a 1.0 in the demo and 3.5 million viewers.

Also offering only one new episode of the night, the CW averaged a 0.5 in the demo and 1.52 million viewers. An encore of Arrow took in a 0.4 in the demo, while a new episode of The 100 dipped to a 0.5 rating.
