Jon Cryer, best known for his role as Alan Harper on CBS’ Two and a Half Men is writing a memoir. He has inked a deal with Penguin imprint, New American Library, and plans for a 2015 release.
Ground that Cryer will cover in the memoir will stem all the way back to his days as a teen actor in the ‘80s, to landing his Emmy-winning role on Men, leading up the current 12th season.
The Hollywood Reporter reports it isn’t clear how much detail he will delve into when it comes to his former co-star Charlie Sheen’s public meltdown before he was replaced by Ashton Kutcher, but he did joke about it in an announcement about the book.
“In these times of truly global crisis when fear is outracing hope, I think we can all be grateful that the guy who played Duckie in Pretty in Pink is writing a book,” he said in a statement.
“It'll be filled with just what you'd expect from me; juicy tidbits on international monetary policy, catty comments regarding agriculture in Central Asia and, of course, forbidden anecdotes about stamp collecting. And maybe I'll talk about Charlie Sheen."
Sheen publicly called Cryer a “troll” during his public meltdown in 2011.
He had a sense of humor about it during an appearance on Conan, saying "The truth is, there's not a lot of tolerance for people like me, especially in Hollywood. To avoid ignorance and bullying, I've had to hide the fact that I'm a troll.”
