The most recent Anna Kendrick hosted Saturday Night Live had its share of pre-taped sketches but there was one more gem that was saved for the Internet.
Kendrick stars alongside Nasim Pedrad, Taran Killam, and Kenan Thompson in a tragic mockumentary about the child stars of Nickelodeon's Zap, a show that strongly resembles PBS's Zoom.
In the sketch Beck Bennett plays the host of a Tru TV documentary series who describes Zap as "bright colors meets the phrase 'Oh Yeah!'" The show comes in such high demand that the cast and crew is forced to find a way to deal with the stress.
Bennett says the fictional show aired in the early 90's whereas Zoom originated in the 1970's before being rebooted in 1999. A story in the LA Times on the relaunch notes the show's highly energetic style and its part in popularizing "Ubbi Dubbi" speak, the language that simply requires placing an "ub" before every vowel. An Ubbi Dubbi translator can still be found on the Zoom website.
