Rapper Andre Johnson, of the Wu-Tang Clan, attempted suicide earlier today in Los Angeles after cutting off his penis.
CNN reports that police have said that Johnson severed his penis and jumped from the second floor of an apartment building in North Hollywood. Los Angeles Police Sgt. William Mann said that although he was seriously injured, but he did survive the fall.
Johnson and his severed penis were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical center, where he is currently being treated. It is unclear why Johnson tried to kill himself, or the reasoning behind his actions.
According to E! News, Johnson goes by his rap name, Christ Bearer. A music video for a song titles “OOOH!,” featuring Rugged Monk, who was also a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, was released yesterday. The video was put up on YouTube just hours before the attempted suicide.
