The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox today in front of a packed-house at Yankee Stadium. The final score was 7-4, and the final thought was that the “Bronx Bombers” have arrived.

In front of a packed Yankee Stadium house, those Yankees hit five home-runs, accounting for all of their runs on this beautiful spring day. Derek Jeter watched this one from the bench as he received the day off.

Yankees Catcher Brian McCann decided this slump he started the season with should end. He broke out today hitting two of those five Yankee round-trippers (his first two of the season), according to CBSsports.

Watching Carlos Beltran hit gives all Yankee fans the thought of a missed-opportunity. Beltran always wanted to play in Yankee Stadium, but the two sides could never get it done until 2014. Regardless of the feeling of missed-opportunity, Yankee fans are glad he’s here now.

The professional hitting Beltran opened the game up early. He blasted a two-run shot off of Boston Starter John Lackey with Jacoby Ellsbury on base, according to YESnetwork. From there, the home-run was Lackey’s kryptonite.

Brian McCann and Alfonso Soriano each hit solo homers in the fourth-inning, extending the lead to 4-2. In the sixth, McCann collected his second blast of the day (2-run shot). Then, Kelly Johnson capped the day off in the eighth-inning to move the score to 7-4.

Yankees Starting Pitcher Hiroki Kuroda was workman-like all afternoon. He pitched 6.3 innings, scattering six-hits and allowing four-runs as he earned his second-win on the young season.

The question of who would close out games (with David Robertson on the DL) was answered again with the name Shawn Kelly. He came into a clean ninth and pitched a one, two, three inning.

New York now takes a 2-1 series lead over Boston. The final game of this four-game set will go down tomorrow night in the Bronx.
