Ex-New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez will be arraigned Wednesday on two counts of first-degree murder.
The Associated Press reported that Hernandez is due in Suffolk Superior Court to be arraigned for the shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado outside a Boston nightclub in 2012.
USA Today noted that the former tight end will also be arraigned on three counts of armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
These charges are the latest for Hernandez who has been in prison since June 26, while he awaits trial for the 2013 murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.
On Tuesday, Carlos Ortiz, an associate of Hernandez, pleaded not guilty to a murder indictment of Lloyd. Another man, Ernest Wallace, has also been indicted for the murder.
Prosecutors said that the former NFL star orchestrated the killing of Lloyd who was dating his fiancée’s sister.
In addition to the murder charges, Hernandez is accused in a civil lawsuit of shooting a man in the face at a Florida nightclub in February of 2013.
