The Denver Police Department issued an arrest warrant on Thursday for Denver Broncos safety T.J. Ward.
Ward is wanted on a misdemeanor assault charge, which stems from an alleged fight the NFL player got into at the strip club PT's All Nude, reports The Associated Press. The Broncos said in a statement, "We have been aware of this issue and will continue to review all of the facts."
According to the Denver Post, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said that authorities are waiting on the 27-year-old to turn himself in.
The Broncos signed Ward to a four-year contract worth $22.5 million during free agency after playing for the Cleveland Browns. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl and the second-team All-Pro.
The team is hopeful Ward can help upgrade the Broncos' struggling defense, which also picked up DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. General manager John Elway previously said the 5-foot-10 safety is "going to bring energy and toughness to our secondary."
