Arsenio Hall wants to own the Los Angeles Clippers after the NBA finally does force Donald Sterling to sell the team. The only problem is that he doesn’t have $1 billion. So, the late night talk show host is turning to his fan for help.
Hall launched an Indiegogo campaign with the goal of using the site to raise all $1 billion and he has 36 days left to do it. So far, he’s only up to $1,242. The perks for donating include getting Hall to retweet one of your tweets for $50 and a shout-out on air for $100. If you have an extra $100,000, you can be Hall’s sidekick for a night.
If Hall can't make it to $1 billion, he plans on donating all the money he did raise to the National NAACP.
In the video announcing the campaign, Hall explained that he would try to but the team himself, but he lost all his money betting on the Lakers this past season. He also said that owning a basketball team is one of his two biggest dreams. (The other is sleeping with Halle Berry, but that’s not going to happen.
Sterling’s reputation crumbled when a recording of him making racist comments leaked on TMZ last month. The NBA then banned him for life and fined him $2.5 million, but he has refused to pay and is planning on suing. On Monday, the league charged Sterling, moving one step closer to forcing him to sell the franchise.
