To those wondering how longtime Hollywood veterans spend their free time, the answer is much more mundane and more amazing than you might expect.
A man identified only as Steven told the blog Deadspin that he was in Charleston, South Carolina celebrating his friend’s bachelor party when a member of his party saw Bill Murray at a table in a fishing vest while returning from the restroom. Steven provided Deadspin with a video of the events that followed, which can be viewed through the link provided above.
Members of group asked to buy Murray drinks and invited him to give a small speech for the groom. The 63-year-old actor gave both requests a “no, thanks”, only to join the party two minutes later.
According to San Jose Mercury News, Murray offered a delightfully true-to-form piece of advice to the party: "You know how they say funerals are for the dead, not for the living? Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they're for the unmarried."
Not wanting to exclude the groom, Murray went on to provide some romantic wisdom: "If you have someone that you think is the one ... take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And ... when you land at JFK and you're still in love with that person, get married."
Murray’s most recent role was the supporting character Monsieur Ivan in Wes Anderson’s stylish dramatic comedy Grand Budapest Hotel.
