Comedian Billy Eichner is heading to USA Network for a pilot presentation. Amy Poehler, who stars in Parks and Recreation with Eichner, will be co-executive producing the project.

The show is currently titled Difficult People and was created by Eichner and his longtime friend, writer Julie Klausner (Mulaney). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eichner and Klausner plan on starring as comedians and friends who hate everyone but each other. It will be set in New York and Klausner is writing the pilot.

Variety reports that USA has only ordered a pilot presentation for Difficult People. Universal Cable Productions will produce.

Eichner and Klausner have also collaborated on Billy on the Street, Eichner’s series on Fuse. Poehler has appeared with Eichner on the show, including one sketch in which he convinced people she was Pitbull (or at least tried to). They also made a Christmas Carols video in December together.

For USA, this is the latest original, scripted comedy. Playing House just launched and Benched will be starting soon. The shows will air alongside repeats of Modern Family.
