Brad Pitt was granted an emergency protective order from a notorious prankster who punched him in the face on Wednesday night at the Hollywood premiere of Maleficent.
As previously reported, Pitt was attending the premiere of Angelina Jolie's newest film at the El Capitan Theater, when Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk jumped onto the red carpet and decked the A-list actor.
Despite the attack, the Seven actor continued to sign autographs and appeared to be OK before heading in to watch the film. Meanwhile, Sediuk was dragged away and is currently being held by the Los Angeles Police Department for battery.
According to E! News, after the attack an emergency protective order, which lasts five days, was issued by police after talking with the actor.
A longer lasting restraining order against Sediuk would require Pitt to go to court.
"This was an unfortunately and inappropriate incident that is being investigated by the LAPD," a Disney spokesman told the site.
This was the second altercation between an actor and Sediuk in May, as he attempted to get underneath America Ferrera's dress while she was attending the Cannes Film Festival.
