Director Bryan Singer and producer Gary Goddard are facing fresh allegations from another man who claims they sexually abused him as a teenager. The man has remained anonymous, although it was revealed that he is a U.K. citizen.
The plaintiff in the suit, known as “John Doe No. 117,” claims that he was abused by Goddard and Singer as a teen in the U.K. However, according to the Los Angeles Times, the lawsuit was filed in federal California court on Saturday. The plaintiff is represented by Jeff Herman, the same attorney representing Michael Egan, who filed a lawsuit against Goddard, Singer and two other Hollywood executives last month.
In the new suit, the plaintiff claims that Goddard first contacted him when in 2003, when he was 14, over the Internet. The next year, Goddard allegedly talked him into sending nude photos. When he was 16, Goddard sent him an invitation to London, where he got him drunk and had sex with him.
After he turned 17, Goddard introduced him to Singer. He claims that Singer sexually assaulted him after a Superman Returns premiere party with Goddard in the room.
Marty Singer, the director’s lawyer, has called the new allegations false, as has Goddard’s attorneys.
Despite denying the allegations, Singer has dropped out of the press tour for his latest film, X-Men: Days of Future Past. “I do not want these fictitious claims to divert ANY attention from X-Men: Days of Future Past. This fantastic film is a labor of love and one of the greatest experiences of my career,” Singer said in a statement.
