CBS’ Two and a Half Men will end its 12-season run after this season, CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler has confirmed.

Tassler said creator Chuck Lorre has some “big surprises” up his sleeve for the final season of the show, leading some to speculate that Charlie Sheen could return.

"Chuck Lorre is creating a season-long event. Chuck is very psyched about this. He's got some great ideas and very big surprises,” said Tassler, LA Times reports.

"We know fans and audiences respond to that and that should really give us a nice boost when we launch our new comedy,” she continued.

The Hollywood Reporter notes Tassler wouldn’t respond to the question of whether or ousted star, Charlie Sheen, would come back.

The show is one of the most expensive to put on, as its lead, Ashton Kutcher, makes $700,000 per episode and Jon Cryer makes $620,00. Kutcher is currently the highest-paid actor on television.

Although it’s the longest running comedy on television, it has experienced some bumps in the road. Sheen was fired after a public feud with Lorre and actor Angus T. Jones urged viewers not to watch it.
