Mr. T and Gotye are celebrating their birthdays today.

Mr. T, 62

Film and television actor and professional wrestler Mr. T turns 62 today. Born Laurence Tureaud, Mr. T is best known for his trademark African Mandinka warrior hairstyle, his gold jewelry, his tough guy image, and his famous catchphrase "I pity the fool." Mr. T played the boxer, Clubber Lang, in the 1982 film Rocky III. In 1983, he landed the role of B. A. Baracus in the television series The A-Team, where he gained national fame.

Due to his A-Team fame, Mr. T had numerous film and television appearances including roles in Blossom, Spy Hard, Saturday Night Live, Inspector Gadget, Malcolm and Eddie, Johnny Bravo, The Simpsons and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Mr. T also had a professional wrestling career. He was Hulk Hogan's tag-team partner at the World Wrestling Federation's (WWF) first WrestleMania. He became a special "WWF boxer" and returned to the WWF as a special guest referee in 1987. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 17, 2014.

Mr. T currently presents a clip show on BBC Three named World's Craziest Fools, which features stories such as botched bank robberies and inept insurance fraudsters alongside fail videos.

Gotye, 34

Belgian-Australian instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Gotye turns 34 today. Born Wouter "Wally" De Backer, Gotye has released three independent albums, and became an international success. He is a member of the Melbourne indie-pop trio The Basics, who have independently released three studio albums since 2002.

Gotye's 2011 single "Somebody That I Used to Know" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making him the fifth Australian-based artist to do so and the second Belgian. He has won five ARIA Awards and received a nomination for an MTV EMA for Best Asia and Pacific Act. He won three Grammy Awards at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards Show in 2013 for Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Somebody That I Used to Know" and Best Alternative Music Album for Making Mirrors.

The Australian newspaper identified Gotye in its Top 50 Most Influential Australians in the Arts.
