Sorry Community fans, but it looks like the efforts to save Greendale Community College are not going to work. After the show was cancelled on Friday by NBC, many tried to get Netflix or other outlets to pick it up, but that doesn’t seem likely.

A rep for Netflix told Variety that the streaming giant is not in talks with Sony Pictures TV, which produced the show, about bringing Community to life again. Deadline has also reported that Sony is not shopping the show around to other networks. While there may be interest, a deal doesn’t seem possible.

Community was one of the shows cancelled by NBC on Friday. The show ran five seasons, but never became a mainstream success. It starred Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi and Yvette Nicole Brown. Chevy Chase and Donald Glover also were members of the main cast, but left before the show’s end.

While fans may be heartbroken, creator Dan Harmon appears to be ready to move on. “Twitter isn't big enough to hold my condolences and more importantly my gratitude to the best fans, cast and crew in TV history. Excelsior,” he wrote Friday on Twitter.

According to TV.com, while hosting his life Harmontown podcast in Portland, Oregon this weekend, Harmon did say that it “take weeks to sink in.”

“The fans of that show have more reason to be upset than I do. I can go create another show. And also I got paid,” he also said. “The people that are most devastated are people that put unpaid labor into the show.”
