Don Johnson, the father of Dakota Johnson, who has been cast as Anastasia Steele in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey, thinks every drug should be legal.

The 65-year-old veteran actor said during an appearance on HuffPost Live that every drug, including, heroin should be legalized in order to “deglamorize” it.

His theory is we should "legalize every drug and tax it,” he told Huffington Post.

"When we privatize prisons we've turned it into a business. And so when you turn it into a business you need clients, and so we arrest a lot of people that don't belong in prison, but they are clients to the privatization of the prison,” he explained.

He went on to say the only way to stop jailing “low level drug offenders” and keep the “gangs” and “drug dealers” out of it is to legalize it.

Johnson knows there will be people who “become alcoholics, but they'll get help.” He continued, "what we can do is take the gangs, the drug cartels and the massive amounts of money that's going out of our economy into other economies and the most important thing is to deglamorize it."

Meanwhile, Johnson’s daughter will appear in Fifty Shades of Grey Valentine’s Day 2015 starring opposite Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.
