Former Washington Redskins wide receiver Donald “Reche” Caldwell was arrested Tuesday on drug charges in Florida.
According to NBC Sports, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that Caldwell was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
The 35-year-old’s arrest record shows that he was in possession of nearly five pounds of MDMA, a pure form of ecstasy known by the street name "Molly."
CBS noted that authorities acted on a tip they received that Caldwell would be in possession of a package containing the drugs. They arrested him outside of an apartment building near the Tampa Bay Busch Gardens theme park.
Law enforcement officials said the drugs are worth between $60,000 and $64,000 on the street.
This is not the ex-player’s first run-in with the law. The Florida native was also arrested in January and charged with running an illegal gambling operation. He was released after posting $2,000 bail for the latest charge.
Caldwell spent six seasons in the league and played in 71 games for the Skins, San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots.
