Authorities said that radio icon Casey Kasem was located in Washington State on Thursday.
According to FOX News, Kasem’s family confirmed the news just days after a judge expressed concerns about the 82-year-old’s wellbeing.
"We are grateful to local authorities for finding my Dad," Kasem's daughter Kerri said. "We are one step closer to bringing him home."
The Associated Press reported that authorities located the longtime disc jockey on Wednesday evening after his children filed a missing person’s report.
Kasem is one of the most popular radio personalities to ever hit the airwaves. He hosted American Top 40, Casey's Top 40 and was the voice of Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo franchise.
The former host has been in poor health in recent years. He suffers from a form of dementia called Lewy Body Disease, which was previously incorrectly diagnosed as advanced Parkinson's disease.
His current wife Jean, who he married in 1980, had moved Kasem from Los Angeles without his children’s knowledge.
The exact location where authorities found him was not immediately known.
