In its first episodic comedy order during its pre-upfront week for the fall television season, Fox has decided to give its upcoming multi-camera sitcom Mulaney ten more episodes in its impending season.

Created by and staring comedian John Mulaney, Deadline reports that the new show will be joining The Mindy Project , Brooklyn Nine-Nine and New Girl in the station's comedy line-up.

Additionally, Mulaney will be joining Last Man on Earth with Will Forte and Weird Loners with Ugly Betty's Becki Newton in Fox's straight-to-series half-hour programs.

Among the most interesting comments to note in this development, however, is that Mulaney may be one of the few comedy pilots they are picking up for series.

Apparently, the heads of Fox are not particularly ecstatic in their comedy pilot selections as they are in their drama selections. Considering how little attention has been given to the comedy front besides these mentioned programs, it seems likely that these rumors are true. Although, among the comedy pilots, Sober Companion is among the most likely to be pick up for series.

Originally set for NBC last season, before it was passed up in May, Fox picked the show up for redevelopment last October with a straight-to-series six-episode order, according to Laugh Spin.
