George Clooney and his bride-to-be, Amal Alamuddin, celebrated their engagement with friends on Sunday night in Malibu, Calif. at Cafe Habana. The restaurant wasn’t closed to the public, so patrons dining there for Mother’s Day got a happy surprise.
Clooney and Alamuddin partied with his friends Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, who owns the restaurant, as well as U2’s Bono and The Edge.
"People got a show they didn't expect and other [restaurant patrons] said it was the best Mother's Day ever," a source told E! News.
Guests mingled outside on the restaurant’s deck, where witnesses say several performed karaoke. Alamudidn, a human rights lawyer, was also showing off her ring to the fellow guests.
A source told People that the group toasted the happy couple, who got engaged last month, with tequila.
"After the toast, George and his fiancéé were all over each other. Lots of hugging,” said the source.
The couple left the party in the early evening with gifts in hand.
