George Clooney surprised a lot of people when he popped the question to his now-fiance Amal Alamuddin and now details are surfacing as to how he did it.
The Oscar-winning actor, 52, reportedly made sure he asked his future wife to marry him in the most intimate and romantic setting he could.
Clooney proposed with a 7-carat ring after they enjoyed a home-cooked meal at his home in Los Angeles, Page Six reports.
“George cooked a meal himself for Amal at home on April 22, then he surprised her by getting down on bended knee and presenting her with the ring,” said the source. “He was so happy she accepted, he was calling friends with the news later that night.”
They were then seen having dinner the next night out at Craig’s, then Nobu in Malibu the night after that. The couple were “beaming” on their first outings since getting engaged.
“It’s only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work,” the insider continued.
As we previously reported, Clooney’s parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, are just as smitten with Alamuddin as their son is.
